ShelfGenie Celebrates Fantastic Franchise Development Success in 2018

ShelfGenie®, the nation’s leading custom shelving and home improvement solutions franchise, more than tripled the number of new franchise territories sold in 2018 over 2017.  The company plans to award twice as many territories, while also entering four new states, in 2019.


Andy Pittman, ShelfGenie’s CEO, credits his franchise development team for implementing an effective and targeted game plan in 2018.


“Our franchise development team, led by Wes Barefoot, was laser focused on sparking new relationships with ambitious, entrepreneurial minds in high upside markets from coast to coast,” said Pittman.  “Simultaneously, we worked diligently to improve what aspiring business owners find out about us online during their self-paced due diligence process with engaging content that highlights the benefits of our “designed to scale” business model.   We’re thankful so many phenomenal people joined the ShelfGenie franchise family in 2018 and we look forward to building on that momentum in 2019.”


ShelfGenie added eight new franchise partners and sold 31 new franchise territories in 2018, representing a 210% increase from 2017.  There were also three transfers of ownership, which resulted in three new franchise partners joining the ShelfGenie franchise family.  All in all, the brand increased its overall total of franchise partners to 50 and franchise territories to 160.


ShelfGenie also reported that most of its franchise partners experienced strong individual year-over-year growth and the franchise system saw increased system-wide sales in 2018.


In 2019, ShelfGenie expects to award 65-70 new franchise territories and add 25 new franchise partners.   As part of that goal, ShelfGenie expects to expand to four states where they don’t currently have a presence, such as Colorado, South Dakota, Utah and Wisconsin.
