Born and raised in Scotland, I moved to Florida in 1987 and made Sarasota my home. I have two grown children and two wonderful grandchildren, Remi and Ruby. With over 24 years of experience in the home storage industry across both Florida and Ireland, I bring a deep understanding of what it takes to create functional, joyful spaces. Listening to my clients' challenges helps me design solutions that truly transform their daily lives. As someone living with rheumatoid arthritis, I knew accessibility in my home had to be a top priority—and that’s when I discovered ShelfGenie. Our custom-designed Glide-Outs made a remarkable difference in my daily comfort and functionality, and I love sharing that transformation with others. As a native Floridian and interior designer, I’ve seen kitchen and bath trends evolve dramatically over the years. I joined ShelfGenie in 2018 with two priorities in my life: my five children and my aging parents. I know firsthand how overwhelming the chaos of raising a family can be—and how essential it is to have an organized, functional home. As I supported my parents through aging, I saw just how critical accessibility is (I still shudder remembering my mom standing on a rolling office chair to get something that was out of reach!). With a background in professional organizing and kitchen and bath design, I believe that nothing is more powerful than starting with a smart plan. That’s why I love working with ShelfGenie. When I visit your home, I bring empathy, creativity, and practical solutions tailored to your needs and your budget. Outside of ShelfGenie, I find joy in watching my children build their own families—four weddings and six grandchildren (and counting)! I feel incredibly lucky to wake up each day to views of Tampa Bay, tropical breezes, and walks with my little dog, Molly. It’s a magical life—and I love helping bring a little bit of that magic to yours.

With over 32 years of experience in the cabinetry industry, I’ve worked on both commercial and residential projects. I became a Florida licensed contractor once I moved here from my home state of New Jersey 24 years ago. I joined the ShelfGenie team in 2011. I bring a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in every project. I take great pride in what I do and enjoy delivering top-quality results that truly improve how our clients live in their homes. When I’m not installing transformative ShelfGenie solutions, you’ll likely find me golfing, fishing, or spending time with my family.

Before joining ShelfGenie in 2011, I spent 40 years as a trim carpenter in the remodeling business, specializing in custom kitchens. Originally from Long Island, New York, I moved to Florida in 2004 and have enjoyed being part of this vibrant community ever since. Working with ShelfGenie allows me to use my craftsmanship to help homeowners reimagine their kitchens and bathrooms with practical, beautiful solutions. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that truly makes a difference in people’s daily lives. Outside of work, I enjoy kayaking, fishing, and riding my motorcycle—making the most of Florida’s great outdoors.

Hi, my name is Declan. I’m originally from Belfast, Ireland, where I began learning the trade of cabinetry at age 16 as an apprentice under seasoned craftsmen. For the past 25 years, I’ve called Sarasota, Florida home. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience in both cabinetry design, installation and field supervision, working on a wide range of residential projects. Today, I bring my expertise in both design and installation to ShelfGenie—an ideal match for my background and passion for helping homeowners improve their spaces. When I’m not assisting clients with home organization solutions, I enjoy spending time with my family exploring Florida’s state parks and springs, and cheering on my favorite soccer team during the season.
