After earning her bachelor’s degree in interior design, Sherra worked residential, commercial, and institutional design jobs over a span of 30 years. She loved working with her clients and using her creativity. In 2007 she had an opportunity to open a mission-based retail store, another passion. When the store closed Sherra decided to return to her interior design roots. While walking through a home show, she stumbled across ShelfGenie and immediately was drawn in. “This was the perfect fit for me. I love helping people and solving problems. At this point in my life I’m juggling caregiver and grandparent, so I needed a flexible schedule.”
Sherra was born in Winchester, TN. She met her husband, Steve, in college and after graduation they moved to Chattanooga. They have a son and a daughter who are both married. Just two miles down the road, their son and his wife have three little ones of their own, Corbin, Audrey and Oliver. Their daughter and her husband have a little boy named Teddy and live in Hixson. Sherra along with Steve, their black lab Jack, and her 90-year-old mother-in-law live on a 78-acre farm between Cleveland and Chattanooga. When Sherra is not playing with her grandchildren, she enjoys gardening.
